Fraud Alerts Issued
The OPP is warning citizens to beware of letter and e-mail scams.  Police are advising the public to be cautious of any type of communication requesting personal information be provided or any amount of money being required to be sent in order to receive more money.
The OPP also issued an alert about a new e-mail scam that promises a tax refund should the recipient fill out and return what looks like a government form from the Department of Finance Canada.
It suggests a calculation has made the individual eligible for a tax refund of $112.80.  Police say filing out a tax refund request will compromise the individual's credit card and social security information.

The Town of Renfrew wishes to remind all owners/operators of trailers and motor homes that the public sewage disposal depot on Mask Road, remains closed.  Service at this facility was discontinued in early 2004 as a result of an order received from the Ministry of the Environment aimed to improve the effluent at our Pollution Control Plant.  Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.  Further details can be acquired by contacting the Development and Works Department at 432-8166.
PARKING CARDS:  Town of Renfrew Parking Cards are available for sale at the Town Hall and the Renfrew Library.  You receive 20% more parking time when you use a parking card.  A portion of the parking revenue is committed to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital 'Equip for Care' Campaign.
