By-laws
17-2000 and 18-2000 require that all dogs and cats (including house
cats) be licensed by their owners each year. A maximum of four
(4) dogs are permitted per household. There is no limit on the
number of cats.
Between
January 1st and March 31st each year, contractors engaged by the
municipality go door to door selling dog and cat licenses (tags) to
pet owners. Before March 31st tags may be purchased for $10 each
directly from the contractor or at the Town Hall, 127 Raglan Street
South. After March 31st, tags much be purchased at the Town Hall
for $12.00 each. Failure to license each animal each year may
result in a fine of $53.75.
Purchasing pet tags at your home is a fast and convenient way of
obtaining the required license. Please co-operate with our
representatives when they visit your home. |
