When it comes to
community service and charitable works, residents of Renfrew are quick to
join in, donate or volunteer their time to helping others.
It is a tradition
with long roots, reaching back to 1859 when the Masonic Lodge was founded
in Renfrew. The Oddfellows, Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts Rotary Club,
Horticultural Society, Lions Club, Lionettes, Kiwanis, Kinsmen, Kinettes
and the Renfrew Legion quickly followed.
Today, Renfrew
has a group, service club or organization for everyone. Interested in
young people? Help out with Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Brownies and
Guides or Cubs and Scouts. Enjoy sports? Join the Volleyball League, Men's
Ball Hockey League, Minor Hockey Association, Tennis Club or Renfrew Golf
Club; there is a group for every sport imaginable.
The University
Women's Club established in 1957 or Beta Sigma Phi are both active. Join
the Senior Citizens Club or try your hand at the arts by joining the
Renfrew Little Theatre, the Renfrew and District Arts and Crafts or the
Photography Club.
If a sense of
community, a chance to meet people and the opportunity to explore your
interests are what you are looking for, Renfrew has it. See
BUSINESS DIRECTORY for a list of local clubs and
organizations
or the Clubs and Organizations
Meeting Calendar. |
